Addison Barnes

Addison Barnes, a Neenah, Wisconsin, native, was named Assistant Volleyball Coach at Drake on April 15th, 2024.

Barnes is the Director of Operations for the Drake program. On top of those external duties, she remains focused mostly on the program’s defensive systems and working with pin hitters. She is currently going into her second year in this role.

Prior to her arrival, she played for five years at the University of Loyola Chicago receiving her bachelor’s degree in communication studies in 2023. During her time at Loyola, Barnes  was named Loyola’s first Freshman of the Year in the MVC in 2019. The two-time First-Team All-MVC selection helped guide the Ramblers to the 2021 regular season championship and proceeded to help lead her team into the A-10 conference where in 2022 she was an A-10 regular season and conference champion, continuing on to the first-round of the NCAA tournament for the first time in her career. In her 2023 campaign she garnered A-10 Second-Team accolades and finished her career with 1,185 kills, 1,083 digs, and 166 serving aces. Barnes was a three-year Loyola volleyball captain.

Addison graduated from Neenah High School in Wisconsin, where she was a four-year varsity starter and led her team to a D1 State Championship in 2016. She later went on to be conference player of the year in 2018.
