Men's Soccer Preview: Bradley & UIC

Drake travels for penultimate road match, returns home for Senior Day

The Basics 
The Drake men's soccer team is ready for its final two games of October up with a trip to Bradley tomorrow and a Senior Day clash against UIC next weekend. The team will take on Bradley in the Bulldogs' penultimate road match on the Braves home turf on Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. and host the Flames on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Mediacom Stadium.
 
Bulldogs by the Numbers 
The Bulldogs are on a two-game tie streak after earning a 1-1 draw against Western Michigan (Oct. 5) and scoreless stalemate at Bowling Green (Oct. 12). Drake has moved to 2-0-2 in conference record with a 6-3-3 record overall. The Bulldogs, currently 2-3-2 away from home, will look to get back to .500 on the road when they visit Bradley.

Scouting Bradley 
The Braves recently tied SEC foe Kentucky 2-2 in Lexington and are also coming off a 1-0 conference win against Belmont in Nashville. Bradley is 4-6-2 overall with a 1-3 conference record and a 3-3 home tally. 
 
Bradley leads the all-time series with Drake, 21-19-3. The Braves have won the last two meetings and taken the three of the last four. The Bulldogs most recent win came in 2022 in Des Moines while their last win in Peoria capped a run of four straight Drake triumphs between 2020-21.

Scouting UIC 
The Flames enter this weekend 6-5 overall with a 2-2 conference record, and a 2-2 away record. UIC is coming off a 3-1 defeat at Evansville (Oct. 12) and will battle Belmont on Oct. 18 and Notre Dame on Oct. 22 before the Bulldog matchup. Before their loss to Evansville, the Flames had back-to-back wins against Northern Illinois and Bowling Green.  
 
UIC has a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series and earned a win in the most recent bout, a 4-0 result last season. Drake won the three previous matches before last season's clash with two wins in Des Moines and one in the Windy City.
