Mullins Concludes Regional Meet in 3000m Steeplechase

Decorated distance runner finishes fourth in heat

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Drake track and field wrapped up their representation at the NCAA West Regional meet in Sacramento this evening with the women's 3000m steeplechase.
 
Decorated distance runner Brooke Mullins, the school record holder and reigning Drake Relays champion in the event, finished fourth in her heat and 18th overall with a time of 10:10.17.

Earlier in the week, Isaac Basten continued his remarkable season in the 1500m run with a time of 3:39.42, the fourth-fastest quarterfinal time. Basten joined Bulldog hammer thrower Anthony Barmes at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas from June 7-10.
 
Other Bulldog competitors in Sacramento included Adam Phillips in the men's discus and Chandler Haight in the women's shot put, both did not meet the national championship qualification mark.
