WATERLOO, Ill. -- Drake women's golf (329-322--651) improved its team score by seven shots in the second round of the MVC Championships at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill. 

Kristen Giles (78-78--156) led the way with another 78 to move into a tie for third on the leaderboard. Payton Carter  (151)of Murray State is ahead by five strokes. 

Rylee Heryford (83-79--162) had Drake's second lowest round of the day and is currently tied for 23rd overall. Aayushi Sarkar (80-84--164) was next in the Drake lineup. Amber Henson (88-81--169) and Kelly Kavanagh (92-85--177) both showed seven stroke improvements on day two. 

The Bulldogs improved by two spots in the team rankings to sixth following two rounds of play. Missouri State (630) leads Belmont (637) by seven strokes entering the last day.

The final round of the MVC Championships is slated to start at 8:30 a.m.
