Timmer Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Senior standout collects another academic honor

Drake University senior Reed Timmer (New Berlin, Wis.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Men's Basketball Academic All-District Team, the organization announced this week. The CoSIDA Academic All-District® Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom and Timmer will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors.

Timmer, who is the two-time Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for the second-straight year and owns a 3.47 grade point average in Drake's demanding doctorate of pharmacy curriculum. He has already been named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week five times this season.

On the court, Timmer is one of the most decorated men's basketball student-athletes in program history. He recently became the Bulldogs' all-time leading scorer and ranks 20th in MVC history in scoring. His scoring this season ranks among the top 10 in Drake history and he is currently fifth all-time in three-pointers in Drake history and first in rebounds. Earlier this season against Indiana State he scored a career-high 39 points with eight three-pointers. His 39 points were the most by a Bulldog since 2015-16 and the second most since 1981 while the eight three-pointers were one shy of a school record.

Timmer and his teammates close out the regular season Saturday afternoon against Valparaiso at 2 p.m. as the Bulldogs honor their five seniors at the Knapp Center.
