Drake University head men's basketball coach Niko Medved and assistant coach Dave Thorson have been invited to speak at the USA Basketball Coach Academy Aug. 18-20 in Las Vegas, Nev.
 
Medved joins colleagues such as South Carolina head coach Frank Martin, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas, Georgia Tech head coach Josh Pastner in presenting at the three-day event. Drake assistant coach Dave Thorson will also speak to the academy, making Drake the only program with multiple representative invited to speak by USA Basketball.
 
The USA Basketball Coach Academy provides valuable insight and education to coaches and administrators of basketball. Academy sessions impart to coaches of all levels the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to players of all ages and ability levels. Additionally, guest speakers deliver on and off court sessions on basketball and leadership topics.
