DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake University sophomore Madison Glennie has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Elite 18 Award winner, the conference announced at the conclusion of the recent 2016 MVC Championship.
 
The Elite 18 Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average competing at the finals site at each of the MVC's 18 team championships. The selection process varies for each sport, and winners are chosen from a list of nominations submitted by MVC institutions.
 
Glennie, who owns a 4.0 GPA as an English major, finished tied for 15th at the conference tournament. She led the Bulldogs with a score of 230 (75-75-80) and captured her eighth top-20 finish of the season.
 
Glennie's Elite 18 honor is the women's golf programs first, but as an athletic department, Drake has now won 13 Elite 18 Awards since the start of the 2014 season.
