SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – A total of 66 Drake University football student-athletes have been named to the Pioneer Football League Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Friday, Feb. 5.

Drake's 66 honorees were the third most in the PFL behind Dayton's 81 and Butler's 80 selections. In all, a league-record 610 PFL student-athletes earned the honor.

Following Dayton, Butler and Drake in total number of honorees was Davidson (58), Stetson (55), Campbell (47), Valparaiso (47), San Diego (46), Jacksonville (44), Marist (43) and Morehead State (43).

PFL athletic directors and coaches established the honor roll as a way to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in football at member institutions during the fall semester and posted a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the semester while enrolled full-time in accordance with NCAA rules.

Drake has had over 60 honorees each of the last four years with a program record 68 last season, 66 in 2013, 62 in 2012 and 61 in 2011.
