Drake men's basketball sophomore Reed Timmer (New Berlin, Wis.) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the third-straight week, the league has announced.

Timmer led Drake last week with 25 points in a 70-64 loss to Iowa and was 11-of-21 from the field and 3-of-8 from the arc. He added six rebounds with five assists and no turnovers and the rebound and assist totals were both one shy of a career high.  

His 25 points were the seventh-most in a collegiate game at Wells Fargo Arena and the most the Hawkeyes have surrendered this season. Timmer has now scored 20 or more points in five games this season and his 19.5 points per game averge ranks 41st nationally and fifth among sophomores. Academically he owns a 3.6 GPA as a pharmacy major.
