AMES, Iowa - The Drake women's track and field squad wrapped up a successful first day of action at the Iowa State Classic at the Lied Recreation Center on Friday, Feb. 10.

Junior Marissa Smith (Ajax, Ontario) was fourth in the preliminary rounds of the 60-meter hurdles clocking in at 8.74 to advance to the finals tomorrow.

Junior Whitney Westrum (Waukee, Iowa) was 18th in the non-seeded 200-meters in 25.26.

Senior Kirsten Lake (Parker, Colo.) claimed 15th in the non-seeded 800 finishing in 2:14.50.

Competition of the final day of the ISU Classic kicks off tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.
