MISSOURI CITY, TEXAS – The Drake men’s golf team placed eighth in the rain-shortened Husky Invitational Tuesday at the soggy Sienna Plantation Country Club.

The Bulldogs posted a 300-304=604 score in the 10-team tournament which was cut to 36 holes because of heavy rains. Houston won the tournament with a 285-293=578.

Senior Luke Joy (Dorset, England) led Drake by tying for ninth overall with a 71-76=147.   Junior Cody Schweinefus (Decorah, Iowa) tied for 19th with a 77-72=149, while junior Ben Freeman (Fargo, N.D.) and senior Nick Shimon (Peoria, Ariz.) tied for 37th with scores of 76-78=154. Junior Brad Reierson (Chaska, Minn.) rounded out the Drake scoring by tying for 44th overall with a 77-78=155.
