ST. LOUIS, MO. – Drake senior women’s soccer players Sinead Brown (Toronto, Ontario) and Cindi Brenner (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team.
Brown owns a 3.70 grade point average in public relations and was a first team scholar-athlete selection. She played in all 19 matches this season, starting in 16, and notched one game-winning goal with two assists.
Brenner, who owns a 3.72 GPA with an elementary education major earned honorable mention laurels. She played in 14 matches this season, scoring a goal with one assist.
The Bulldogs finished with a 7-10-2 record and a 3-3 conference mark.
To be eligible for the scholar-athlete team, a player must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, a starter or important reserve and own at least a 3.00 GPA. Students must have participated in at least 75 percent of the regular season matches or have appeared in the championship.
