The homecoming event will be held Saturday, August 18 at 11 a.m. at the Knapp Center at Drake University. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
Invitations to the athletes went out late last week. To date, Hy-Vee has received confirmations from Gabby Douglas, winner of two gold medals in gymnastics; Liang Chow, Douglas’s coach; Lisa Uhl, track and field athlete; and Miranda Leek, competitor in archery. Wendel said more confirmations are expected this week as athletes return home from London.
