Cassie Effken (Lincoln, Neb.) recorded a kill to cut the deficit to 22-20 but the Panthers closed out the set with a 3-0 run, the last point on a kill by Maggie Dunbar.
Drake held a 13-10 lead in set two after a block by Effken and Mancini but the Panthers responded with seven straight points to take the lead 17-10. Drake hung tough and was able to cut the lead to 22-19 after a service error by the Panthers. Drake's rally fell just short as Wisconsin Milwaukee closed the set with three straight points.
