DES MOINES, Iowa - Drake head women's tennis coach Sadhaf Pervez has announced a challenging 21-match spring schedule for the Bulldogs.

"I believe our spring schedule has a great mixture of different levels of teams that we will be competing against," Pervez commented.  "I am very excited to have Wisconsin and Iowa come to Drake and play us on our home courts at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. We have 15 matches before conference play and that makes me confident that the squad will be match ready by April. I’m looking forward to the spring season and what is ahead for Drake Tennis.”

The Bulldogs kick off their spring season with a two-match homestand at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center versus Milwaukee and North Dakota on Jan. 26 and Feb. 1, respectively.

Drake hits the road for the first time at UMKC on Feb. 7 before returning home to battle Gustavus Adolphus (Feb. 15) and Creighton (Feb. 21).

The Bulldogs then face Wisconsin (Feb. 23) in the first-ever meeting between the two schools at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

A week later, Drake battles Nebraska (Feb. 28) and Colorado State (March 1) in Lincoln, Neb., before closing its three-match road trip at Nebraska Omaha (March 1).

An in-state showdown at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center versus Iowa looms on March 5 before Drake faces four straight road contests.

The Bulldogs visit in-state rival Iowa State on March 7 before a spring break trip that will see Drake play at Rhode Island (March 19), Brown (March 20) and Boston University (March 22).

The Bulldogs have one final non-conference primer hosting Upper Iowa (March 29) before kicking off their MVC slate on March 30, versus Northern Iowa.

Drake also hosts league matches with Bradley (April 12) and Illinois State (April 13), while traveling to play Evansville (April 5), Southern Illinois (April 6) and Wichita State (April 19).

The Bulldogs will battle for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament crown when the league title is up for grabs in Normal, Ill. (April 25-27).
