Women's Tennis Garners ITA All-Academic Team Award

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recognized the Drake women’s tennis team for its academic success as the Bulldogs were honored as a recipient of the 2013 ITA All-Academic Team Award. 

The recognition highlights squads maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale) for the 2012-13 academic year.  During that span, Drake registered a 3.26 team GPA.

Freshman Maddie Johnson (Onalaska, Wis.), senior Ali Patterson (Overland Park, Kan.) and sophomore Amanda Dick (Kenosha, Wis.) each garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete status for achieving a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

Johnson boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA, while Patterson and Dick maintained 3.75 and 3.67 GPA’s in health sciences and English writing and history, respectively.
