ST. LOUIS - Three Drake University softball student-athletes earned Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete first team honors, the league announced Monday.
Craddock, who graduated earlier this month, has a 3.44 GPA in Health Sciences and will start graduate school at the University of Arizona next fall. A four-year letterwinner, she started 215 of a possible 216 games in her four seasons as a Bulldog. She finished in the top 10 of numerous Drake all-time offensive statistical categories.
Pierce, a sophomore is a Pharmacy major with a 3.45 GPA. In 2012 she posted solid numbers across the board. The Olathe, Kan. native hit .280 with 53 hits, 30 runs scored, 12 doubles, 25 RBI and an MVC-leading 25 stolen bases.
Vande Wall, a junior is an Elementary Education major with a 3.88 GPA. She hit .246 with two home runs, 10 RBI and 17 runs scored. She finished third in the MVC in stolen bases with 19 despite missing the last 10 games due to an injury.
Craddock and Pierce were both selected to the all-MVC first-team last week.
In order to be eligible, student-athletes must have at 3.2 GPA or higher, be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing and meet certain playing requirements.
