DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake women's soccer team was one of 254 schools nationwide that were honored with either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are issued by referees throughout the season.
The Bulldogs were one of 72 teams claiming the Bronze Award, which is given to squads that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of 10 yellow cards. The Gold Award went to 25 teams that received no cards, while 157 squads were honored with the Silver award going to teams with zero reds and a maximum of five yellows.
