DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake women's golf team, under the direction of third-year head coach Leanne Smith, has announced the addition of Ashley Brooks (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing), who will join the Bulldogs' squad for the 2012-13 campaign.

A three-time all-conference selection at Red Wing High School, including first-team accolades as a sophomore, Brooks co-captained her squad to the 2011 Minnesota Class AA state championship.  She was also a member of state runner-up teams during each of her first three prep campaigns. 

Brooks attended Drake as a freshman but didn't compete for the Bulldogs.  Her twin sister, Danielle, is a sophomore on the Drake women's golf squad.

"I am looking forward to Ashley joining us in the fall, she played at a high level in high school and she is excited about getting back into golf," Smith commented.  " She has a lot of talent, a great attitude, and is a welcome addition to our young team."
