DES MOINES, Iowa -Drake women's basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk (Bah-rahn-check) named the first member of her coaching staff Thursday, as Allison Pohlman will continue as an assistant coach on the Bulldogs staff.

"Allison has passion and energy to go along with her recruiting and coaching talents that fit what I want to build with our current and future student-athletes at Drake," Baranczyk said. "She was one of the first people I thought of when I accepted this position and I am thrilled she decided to stay on the staff."

Pohlman, has been an assistant coach at Drake since the 2007-08 season. Prior to Drake, she was a coach at her alma mater, Northern Iowa, for seven seasons. Pohlman was inducted in the UNI Athletics Hall of Fame this past fall.

"I want to thank Jennie, Sandy Hatfield Clubb and the Drake administration for extending the opportunity to return to the program," Pohlman said. "I am excited to continue to work with our student-athletes and be part of the Drake family moving forward.
