Men's Tennis Releases 2014 Fall Schedule
“Our fall schedule is very similar to what we have played in past with the exception of a new event that we will be hosting at the end of October,” Kozlowski commented. “With the new alignment of our conference, the league opted not to host its Individual Championships. That was a bit of a disappointment since we were scheduled to host that event at Drake this fall. However, we have invited some good teams to come in that same weekend and compete at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.”
Drake kicks off its fall campaign hosting the Roger Knapp Invitational (Sept. 19-21) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
A select number of Bulldogs then travel to Tulsa, Okla., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championship (Sept. 27-30) hosted by Tulsa.
Drake returns to Oklahoma to play at the ITA Central Regional (Oct. 9-13) in Norman, Okla., If the Bulldogs are successful on the home court of the Sooners, a trip for one or more Drake players may await to compete at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y. (Nov. 6-9).
“As in year's past, we will be sending players to the ITA All-Americans in Tulsa, Okla., and the Central Regionals in Norman, Okla.,” said Kozlowski. “As the defending regional doubles champions, we are looking forward to returning to attempt to defend our title. I know personally that Alen (Salibasic) is looking forward to getting an opportunity to once again showcase his talents on the national scene at the ITA All-Americans after his strong finish to last season, where he knocked off Georgia's No. 1 player during the NCAA Championships.”
The Bulldogs round out their fall campaign welcoming teams to the Roger Knapp Tennis Center for the Bulldog Jamboree (Oct. 31-Nov. 2).
