DES MOINES, Iowa--The Drake football team will host its fifth annual Youth Day on Friday, April 20 from 4:30-5:45 p.m., inside the stadium, for kids in grades 2-5. The popular event takes place one day before the annual Blue & White Game on Saturday 1 p.m. The game is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
Youth Day is an event that was introduced by Head Coach Chris Creighton when he arrived at Drake in 2008. Its purpose is to give area children an opportunity to visit with the Bulldogs' players while enjoying football-related fun and games.
Kids will have the opportunity to come down onto the field and experience the joy of running around in a safe, fun environment, while learning a few things about the game of football. The Bulldogs' players enjoy the event as much as the kids, constantly interacting, laughing and encouraging their new friends.
