Jennings Leads Drake In Round Two Of Monterey Bay Invitational
With only four available players in the team competition due to injury, the Bulldogs struggled to hone their games over the course of Monday's 18 holes carding a 340 total, to place Drake in fourth place with a 668 score.
"Everyone got off to a slow start today before we slowly got it together over the back nine," Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented. "We are continuing to work on our short games and a lot of that is mental and I'm looking forward to finishing the tournament out strong tomorrow."
Senior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood, Minn.) is headlining the Bulldogs' efforts through 36 holes after a second-round 84 concluded her round with a 163 (79-84) total, good for a sixth-place tie.
After posting an 84, sophomore Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) is one shot behind Falk's pace with a 164 (81-83) score, sitting in a tie for 10th.
Jennings is tied for 12th with a 165 (84-81) total, while freshman Katie Clausen (Hinton, Iowa) recorded a 92 to conclude her round in 29th place with a two-round score of 176 (84-92).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Ashley Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) registered a 95, to stand in 32nd place with a 36-hole mark of 185 (90-95).
Drake concludes competition at the Monterey Bay Invitational on Tuesday (March 19) starting with a 10:00 a.m. CT shotgun start.
