The actual playing surface is expected to be installed next in what will be one of the most impressive features of the facility. Once installed, the Bulldogs will have the luxury of practicing on the finest basketball courts available. The Robbins MVP court is a state-of-the-art floor that has no equal on the market. The Robbins MVP surface has a short vibration damping time to reduce muscle fatigue by eliminating and minimizing floor vibration. When the floor does vibrate, it does so a frequency low enough to not impact muscle performance and recovery. Additionally, the surface promises complete uniformity in bounce and shock absorption while being incredibly comfortable.
The Robbins MVP floor is so highly regarded that it is used in the by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans in their practice facilities. Robbins is also responsible for the construction of the arena floors of the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks.
While work continues on the installation of the first-class practice courts, carpeting and other facets of the Bulldogs’ team area are expected to be installed shortly. Painting is nearly complete inside the team rooms and the bulk of the tile has been laid in the shower areas. Additionally, the cabinetry is almost fully installed in the team lounges.
