Drake Menís Basketball Camps Coming Up
The 2013 Bulldog Basketball Camps are right around the corner with first-year Drake University men’s basketball head coach Ray Giacoletti and the Bulldogs offering day, shooting, elite and team camps throughout the month of June.
All camps will have a dedicated focus to teaching each camper the fundamentals of the game while providing the tools necessary for each camper to continue to improve their game upon leaving camp. In addition to Coach Giacoletti, the entire Bulldog staff will strive to ensure that each camper has not only the best possible experience, but also improves as a player.
“We emphasize the complete development of our basketball players at Drake, and the emphasis at our camps is exactly the same,” Giacoletti said. “We want to teach drills and concepts that we believe will develop the overall game. At the same time we focus on the valuable qualities of teamwork, commitment, and attitude that will separate you from your opponents.”
Day Camps begin June 10-13 for boys ages 6-14 from 1-4 p.m. each day. The cost per camper is $110 for the four days of instruction. A second session of day camps runs from June 25-28 with two separate age classes for those sessions. Boys ages 6-9 will run from 9 a.m. until noon and ages 10-14 will take the Knapp Center court each day from 1-4 p.m. All day campers will have the opportunity to improve through daily skill development drills as well as full court games. All campers will receive a t-shirt and souvenir at the camp. Click here to register for the Day Camps.
On June 7, the Bulldogs will host a Shooting Camp for boys ages 6-14 from 9 a.m. to noon for $65. Instruction at the camp will focus on the proper technique, fundamentals and drills to develop consistent shooting from campers. Each camper will be taught how to properly prepare and execute their shot while learning more than 15 new shooting drills to hone their stroke. At the conclusion of the camp, each attendee will receive a provided package highlighting drills to practice in the offseason to maximize each shooter’s potential.
