DES MOINES, IOWA - Drake's athletic marketing
staff came away from the recent National Association of Collegiate Marketing
Administrator's (NACMA) national convention in Anaheim, Calif. (June 22-25)
with a trio of NACMA Awards program honoring outstanding achievement in
marketing and promotions.
Awards were presented in 16 categories, with each category
divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to
promote fairness. More than 650 entries were received for the 2009-10 year.
"It was a great honor to be recognized by NACMA and
receive these awards," Drake's Assistant Athletics Marketing Director Joe Quinn commented. "To stand up against other universities
across the country and have our work be selected as some of the best is a
tremendous accomplishment. We are
continuing to work on new creative projects that will hopefully enhance the fan
experience here at Drake. To
garner national attention for what we do here on 27th street in Des Moines is
an honor."
Drake garnered laurels in three categories:
Electronic Promotion - Bronze (Group II)
Single Newspaper Display Ad - Bronze (Group II)
Video Board Segment - Bronze (Group II)
Drake was tied with University of Tennessee at Chattanooga,
North Dakota, George Washington and the University of California at Santa
Barbara for the most awards in group two with three.
