DES MOINES, IOWA  ? The Drake University Athletic Department received two national awards during the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) Convention last week in Orlando, Fla.

Drake received Gold in the Promotional Schedule Poster Category for the “Building A Wining Legacy” Limited Edition Poster and Silver in the Video Board Segment Category for the Women's Basketball Introduction Video.

Drake partnered with the University's Marketing and Communications Office on a 2008-09 Limited Edition Poster featuring each Drake Bulldog Athletic Teams. The Bulldogs edged out the University of Missouri Kansas City (bronze) and Grambling State University (silver) to take home top honors in the category.

Drake also received Silver for in the Video Board Segment category for the Women's Basketball Introduction Video, produced by row27 Studios. The Women's Basketball Video was featured during introductions at each game this past season.

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in13 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. A total of 700 entries were received for the 2008-09 year.

NACMA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of athletics marketing administrators.

NACMA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 44th year.
