SUNRISE, Mo. – Even the most decorated of golfers were challenged by The Club at Porto Cima on the opening day of the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday (April 18) as +37 led the field, with the Bulldogs carding a 352 scorecard.
“The course was incredibly challenging for all the teams today and the scores were reflective of that,” Drake head coach Leanne Smith. “The kids were disappointed with their efforts today but they continued to hang in there and battle through the conditions.”
Senior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood, Minn.) paced the Bulldogs' efforts firing an 82, a mark which is good for 14th place.
Sophomore Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) followed with an 88 to stand tied for 36th, while junior Hadley Jennings (Trenton, Mo.) was 38th after firing an opening-round 89.
