DES MOINES, Iowa - The excitement for the 2013 Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee is at an all-time high and All-Session tickets for the 104th edition of "America's Athletic Classic" to be run April 24-28, 2013, at Drake Stadium are now on sale.

The best collegiate and elite athletes from across the world will again share the stage at the famed blue oval with high school competitors from the state of Iowa in the annual renewal of one of our country's great and historic sporting events.

The all-session pass provides admission for Thursday-Saturday events, and costs $95.

Renewals for the remaining three multiple-session packages (All-American, Gold I and Gold II) are currently underway.  An All-American session pass is priced at $65 and is good for the Friday evening and Saturday sessions. Additionally, there are two Gold package options available. The Gold I session includes the Friday daytime and Saturday sessions for $70, while the Gold II package is available for $60 and allows fans access to both the day and evening sessions on Friday.

The All-American, Gold I and Gold II ticket packages for the 2013 Drake Relays go on sale on Feb. 18, while fans may purchase single-session tickets starting on March 25.

Fans may purchase tickets either in person at the Drake Ticket Office, online at GoDrakeBulldogs.com or by calling by phone at (515) 271-DOGS (3647).

On Nov. 28 Drake announced that Hy-Vee, Inc., would serve as the presenting sponsor of the Drake Relays in a partnership that promises to enhance and elevate the already sterling reputation of the Drake Relays.

Part of that exciting new era is more than half a million dollars in purse money for a field that currently features 16 medalists from the 2012 London Olympic Games and a world record holder already confirmed to compete with the potential for more to join the field at a later date. Those Olympians and professional athletes will compete in 'London Rematches' for a $50,000 purse in the running events and a $25,000 purse in the field events. The purses are the largest for an event in the United States.

The Relays, including 2012 Olympic gold medalists Aries Merritt, Felix Sanchez, Renaud Lavillenie, Jenn Suhr, and Brittney Reese, will be featured on ESPN2 with 90 minutes of action being broadcast in prime time.

In addition to the enhanced level of professional competition inside Drake Stadium, the partnership with Hy-Vee will also invigorate the Relays' road races with $120,000 in prize money awarded to the top finishers in the 10-kilometer race, half marathon, and a new 6K race staged in conjunction with Character Counts in Iowa.

The week will again include the running of the Wellmark Grand Blue Mile on Tuesday, April 23 in downtown Des Moines. Registration is now open for this community and competitive street run, and can be done online at GrandBlueMile.com.

Competition gets underway on April 24 with the combined events taking place at Drake Stadium, and continuing into the road races on April 28. Thursday night will again feature the popular Distance Carnival.

Friday and Saturday will follow a similar schedule to previous years with competition taking place across all divisions throughout each day.

The 2012 Drake Relays saw 39,319 fans passed through the turnstiles during the event. The Saturday session was sold out for the 47th consecutive year.  On the competition front, 14 records were broken.

Make your plans now to attend the 104th Annual Drake Relays by visiting GoDrakeBulldogs.com, or calling the ticket office at (515) 271-DOGS (3647).
