SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Junior Hadley Jennings (Trenton, Mo.) turned in a 36-hole total of 150 (77-73) to direct the efforts of the Drake women's golf team at the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial on Monday (Oct. 15) at the Rivercut Golf Course.

The Bulldogs registered rounds of 316 and 315 to collect a 36-hole score of 631, a mark that is good for eighth place among the 15 competing schools.

"I was pleased with our efforts today as we were able to persevere as a team despite not shooting our best rounds and still post solid scores," Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented.  "We've come a long way this fall, as early in the campaign if we didn't play to our potential we couldn't have posted similar numbers."

Sophomore Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) garnered back-to-back rounds in the 70's with scores of 76 and 78 to stand tied for 23rd with a 154 mark.

"Danielle (Brooks) and Hadley (Jennings) both played well today," said Smith.  "They had a few big holes that in the end had an effect on their scores."

Senior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood, Minn.) concluded her day with a 36-hole total of 163 (81-82=163), to finish tied for 49th place.

Sophomore Ashley Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) and freshman Katie Clausen (Hinton, Iowa) wrapped up competition on Monday (Oct. 15) recording tournament scores of 166 (84-82=166) and 167 (82-85=167) to place 61st and 65th, respectively.

"Ashley (Brooks) was well on her way to firing an 80 or better today but had 2-3 bad holes per round that stopped her efforts, but I'm pleased with her progression," Smith explained.  "I'm excited to see what we can do in tomorrow's final round."

Drake closes out action at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Tuesday (Oct. 16) starting with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
