DES MOINES, Iowa - Garnering
recognition for her efforts in the classroom, Drake sophomore women's golfer Hadley Jennings (Trenton, Mo./Trenton) has been named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar
Team.
Jennings received NGCA laurels for the second-consecutive year after
maintaining a 3.77 grade-point average in education.
"I'm so proud of Hadley and
her academic achievements," Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented. "She has a great work ethic and it shows
both academically and athletically. It is great to see her earn this honor for
the second time and add to our growing list of Academic All-Americans."
Jennings finished her sophomore campaign firing a team-low 80.1 scoring
average during 28 rounds. She
recorded five rounds in the 70's during the spring campaign, including twice
firing a season-low 75 during the final rounds of the Hotels at Grand Prairie
Invitational and State Farm MVC Championship, respectively.
The NGCA All-American Scholar Golf Teams
recognize outstanding academic and athletic achievements in women's college
golf across Division I, II and III. A total of 585 women's collegiate
golfers were honored. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team
are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with student-athletes
needing to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
