FALLS, Iowa - Freshman Melissa Parks (Norfolk, Neb.) won the 1,000-meter race to highlight action
for the Drake women's track squad at the Jack Jennett Invitational on Saturday.
Parks had a time of 3:06.67, in
only her second track meet of her Drake career.
Fellow freshman Jessica Mathes
(Cherokee, Iowa) snared a third-place showing in the 600-meter clocking in at 1:39.37.
Junior Marissa Smith (Ajax,
Ontario) was second in the 60-meter hurdles finishing in 8.66 seconds, while fellow
junior Sarah Yeager (Ottumwa, Iowa) was seventh in 9.17.
Junior Cammy Dole (Anamosa, Iowa) claimed an eighth-place showing in the
800-meters in 2:22.05.
Drake travels to Lincoln,
Neb., on Feb. 3 and 4 to take part in the Frank Sevigne Invitational.
