DES MOINES, IOWA -
Former Drake Basketball standout Adam Emmenecker, along with Jethro's Barbeque,
will be featured on Wednesday's Man vs. Food television show on the Travel Channel. Jethro's
will be hosting a watch party starting at 7 p.m. with the show airing at 8 p.m.
Jethro's named a sandwich after Emmenecker who earned the Larry Bird Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Award in 2008 and led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament as well as the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and post-season tournament titles. Emmenecker was also named the Academic All-American of the Year in college basketball for the 2007-08 campaign.
The sandwich consists of a pork tenderloin, an Angus
steak burger, slabs of Texas brisket, apple wood bacon & fried cheese, buffalo
chicken tenders, melted cheddar cheese and white cheddar sauce.
The Man vs. Food segment will consist of host Adam
Richman attempting to eat an entire Adam Emmenecker sandwich in 15 minutes.
Following the show, fans can sign up to take the Adam
Emmenecker Challenge. Participants will be tasked with eating The Adam
Emmenecker sandwich in 15 minutes, much like on the show. Emmenecker was present during the taping of the show.
