WHAT'S AHEAD: The Drake softball team, which owns an 8-1 record during the fall campaign, will close out the season playing host to Indian Hills Community College and Kirkwood College this Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, at Buel Field.

A LOOK BACK: Jenna DeLong (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho) had a two-run single to help lead the Drake softball team to a 5-1 victory past William Penn in the Drake Invitational Sunday. DeLong, Elena Leon (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) and Jaci Faidley (Colfax, Iowa/Colfax-Mingo) collected two singles apiece to lead Drake's 11-hit attack against William Penn.

The Bulldogs' game with Grand View was cancelled because of lightning after the teams had played to a 1-1 tie in the second inning.
