Drake, KRNT Radio Renew Broadcast Coverage Of Athletic Events

DES MOINES, IOWA - Drake University and KRNT Radio in Des Moines have agreed on a three-year contract extension for the station to continue to broadcast Bulldog athletic events.

KRNT (1350 AM) will carry the complete Drake football and men's and women's basketball schedules for the upcoming season.

"We are happy to continue our long relationship with Drake University," said Bill Wells, general manager of the Des Moines Radio Group. "It's a great university and an important asset for Des Moines and the surrounding area. We are proud to be involved and look forward to bringing the games to Drake's many loyal fans."

"We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Des Moines Radio Group," said Drake athletic director Sandy Hatfield Clubb. "KRNT has long been a staple as one of the most popular radio stations not only in Des Moines but central Iowa.

"There's a lot of interest and excitement about the future of Drake athletics and Bulldog fans can follow our teams on 1350 AM."

Larry Cotlar and former Drake standout Dolph Pulliam will return for their second year teaming up on broadcasts of Drake men's basketball.

Scott Pierce and Laura Leonard, a former Drake women's basketball player, will return to handle the announcing for women's basketball.

Pierce also will enter his second year as the play by play announcer for Drake football games and will be assisted by former Drake player Chris Parrish, who will handle color commentary.
