TURK, WOLLSCHLAGER NAMED TO MVC
SCHOLAR-ATHLETE TEAM

- Junior guard Kristin Turk and sophomore guard Amber Wollschlager were named to
the Missouri Valley Conference Honorable Mention Scholar-Athlete Team, the
league announced Tuesday.
Turk (Des
Moines, Iowa) carries a 3.54 cumulative grade point average in history/secondary
education. She is second on the team in scoring with a 13.0 average and is the
team's top threat from beyond the arch with 44 three pointers on the year. She
scored a career-high 28 points against Indiana State (March 4) and will enter
this week's State Farm MVC Tournament having scored in double figures in eight
straight games.
Wollschlager
(Milbank, S.D.) has a 3.94 GPA in accounting/management. She is fifth on the
team in scoring with a 7.0 average and scored a career high 19 points against
Iowa, Dec. 20. Wollschlager is second on the team with 33 three-pointers and
third with 48 assists (1.7 PG). The sophomore finished the regular season as
one of Drake's most accurate shooters, shooting 43.6 percent from the floor and
40.2 percent from three-point range.
Scholar-athlete nominees must be starters or important
reserves, have played at least 75 percent of a team's games, and must carry at
least a 3.20 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Student-athletes must also have reached
sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution (true and
redshirt freshmen are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full
academic year at the institution.
