DES MOINES, IOWA - Former Drake women's basketball player Jill Martin had a successful pro debut in the Basketball Ireland Women's SuperLeague on Sunday (Oct. 12) scoring 16 points to lead her DCU Mercy squad to a 69-37 victory over DART Killester.

Martin shared top scoring honors in the contest with teammate and former Iowa State standout Mary Fox.

“I was nervous for the first game, but it was great that my family could be there,” Martin said.  “I didn't play very well, but it was the first game and I didn't exactly know what to expect.”

Martin and her DCU Mercy squad return to action on Saturday (Oct. 18) with an away contest against the Bausch and Lomb Waterford Wildcats.
